CULTURE OF WELSH ONION WITH SOFT WHITE PART AND TOOL USED THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To obtain Welsh onion with soft white part having a clear division between green part and while part readily and in high earning rate, by culturing Welsh onion with soft white part by water culture and reducing an amount of light irradiating the upper part of stem part in a controlling way. CONSTITUTION:Welsh onion with soft white part is cultured in a water culture bed 7, grown after planting until diameter of stem part 3 reaches a value in a given range and an amount of light is controlled by laying light screening walls 4 to make an amount of light at the upper part of the stem part 3 including leaf sheath part 2 =90% an amount of light without the walls at positions which keep a value of a distance between the light screening walls 4 lager at the top than at the bottom. Then the value at the top is made equal to the value at the bottom, light is screened and culture is carried out to give the objective Welsh onion with soft white part.
