TOOL KNIFE EDGE POSITION DETECTING MEANS FOR NC MACHINE TOOL

PURPOSE:To enable the unification of wiring and switches for a plurality of sensor faces by setting up each tool correction value on the basis of position data and axis and direction data available from a judgement means. CONSTITUTION:A position data supply means 3 feeds position data generated due to axial shift when a contact signal has been inputted from the sensor of a probe Ps. An axial direction judgement means 4 makes judgement about the symmetry axis of the sensor and the direction thereof according tot he select signal of a moving axis and the changeover signal of a positive or a negative direction. The axial direction judgement means 4 regards the select signal of the moving axis as the axial data of the sensor, and makes judgement about the direction data of the sensor with the direction signals exchanged for each other in plus and minus signs. According to the result of the judgement, a correction value for each tool as set up with each tool correction means 5 is once saved in an offset memory 6 and then used for NC machining on an NC control means 7.
