(57) The pointing paper is used to determine the presence of active chlorine in working disinfection solutions applied in the veterinary-medical and humane medicine practice; as well as in water basins - both swimming pools and coastal locations. The pointing paper and the method for its derivation ensure quick accounting of active chlorine in the tested samples under laboratory and field conditions by avoiding the usage of hardly accessible and hardly synthesized toxic organic compounds such as components of the indicative reactive. The pointing paper is a filter paper with includes an indicative reactive - a mixture of o-tolidin, ammonium chloride, 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-dimethylaminopyralozone-5, disodium phosphate and citric acid. 1m2 of filter paper contains in g: o-tolidin from 0.10 to 0.40; ammonium chloride from 1.60 to 3.20; 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-dimethylaminopyralozone-5 from 0.20 to 1.30; disodium phosphate from 0.90 to 1.80 and citric acid from 0.10 to 1.40. The method for derivation of pointing paper in effect is the following: filter paper is immersed in a solution of an indicative reactive with a subsequent drying in aerial medium. The solution of the indicative reactive contains in vol. p.: from 2 to 9 0.1 - 1.5% of ethanole solution of o-tolidin; from 5 to 15 0.4-3.1% ethanole solution of 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-dimethylaminopyralozone-5, from 1 to 4 12-22% water solution of ammonium chloride; from 3 to 9 1.5 - 4.6 water solution of disodium phosphate and from 2 to 7 1.8 - 3.2% water solution of citric acid, while the solution has a pH from 4.8 to 6.6. The qualitative and semi-quantitative determination of active chlorine is carried out by spilling a drop on the pointing paper from a dropper into the sample. The emerging colouring of the pointing paper is compared with a colour standardized scale, which is developed for the following quantities of active chlorine in percentage points: 0.001, 0.005, 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0.
