The method involves combusting a dried ion exchange resin in a pressurized mineralization enclosure so as to obtain a mineralizer. The mineralizer is dissolute in water to obtain a solution subjected to an elution via cationic resin so as to retain main cationic species. Silver salt is added to the elution so as to precipitate a chloride compound. The precipitated compound is dissolute by adding sodium thiosulfate to obtain another solution subjected to another elution via anionic resin. Quantity of chlorine contained in the latter elution is measured using a liquid scintillation counter. The enclosure is a Parr bomb containing cobalt chloride and nitric acid solution and graphite. The silver salt is silver nitrate. The main cationic species are utilized for emitting beta or gamma radiations.
