The subject of the invention is the use in turkeys, for improving weight gain, of the compounds of formula (I): IMAGE in which R represents an alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms and X represents an acyl radical derived from a carboxylic acid containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms, characterised in that these compounds are incorporated into compositions intended for oral administration.
