Transporter and counting system for crates or other rectangular objects - uses continuous chain and catches to move objects and operate counting mechanism

The objects to be transported and counted, e.g. crates (K1 to K3), pass along guide rails (5) to a central position where catches (16) attached to a continuous chain (15) can lift one end of the crate and push it forward along the rails. The chain, which is driven around chain drive gears (17) by a motor, carries three such catches. The first cach to reach the bottom of the crate lifts the rear end of the crate upwards, but can only push it forward if allowed by the upper guide bars (30), i.e. if the crate is in the correct position. The passage of the catches is detected by an inductive sensor (21).
