A B S T R A C TAPPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR SOLIDS-FLUID SEPARATIONAn apparatus suitable for solids-fluid (e.g. crackingcatalyst/ hydrocarbon vapour) separation comprising upwardlydirected feed inlet means of which the upper part cooperatessubstantially tangentially with a housing comprising at least adomed upper section, at least one fluid outlet means which is influid communication with a central section of the housing, anddownwardly directed solids outlet means in communication with atleast one solids outlet opening in a lower section of the housing.The invention further relates to a process for separating fluidcatalytic cracking catalyst particles from gaseous hydrocarbonconversion products and/or flue gases using said apparatus.
