Split-Imaqe. Multi-Power MicroscopicImaqe Display System and MethodAbstractA split-lmage, multi-power microscopicimage display system and method wherein the image ofan object positioned on a s1ide is split into twooptical paths, and is magnified to a varying degreein each optical path, the resulting respectivelymagnified images being displayed on respectivemonitor devices. The initial optical path includesan objective and a splitter; the paths of lowermagnification and higher magnification each include aTV camera and a TV monitor, and may include variousoptical elements in accordance with the fourdisclosed embodiments. Further features of theinvention include the following: provision of amicrocomputer with data entry means, and respectivemixers disposed between the TV cameras and theirmonitors for insertion of identifying informationinto the video signal, with subsequent display on themonitors of the identifying information and the imageof the object being microscopically viewed; provisionof a photographic printer for producing a hardcopyrecord of the image viewed; and provision of a lensswitching arrangement for selection of variousobjectives without the necessity of refocusing aftera lens is switched into position.
