176/85ABSTRACTProcesses and apparatus for the construction of improvedtank structures employing pump metering and delivery system whichaccurately meters, mixes and evenly sprays composite materials toform the walls of tanks or containment vessels. Such systemshave specific application to the construction of walls ofprestressed tanks formed by inflating a membrane and applyingrigidifying material outwardly of said membrane and thenprestressing the walls by circumferentially wrapping prestressingmaterial around the same. Promoters, catalyst, and otherchemicals are used to create composite walls, each feeding intoindividual pump systems comprised of at least two hydrauliccylinders connected to supply cylinders which are coordinated sothat their strokes are synchronized to arrive at a continuousflow. The flow is then channeled through a mixture which mixesthe material for spraying through a nozzle. The flow from thenozzle can also be intermixed with chopped glass from a choppersystem or with granular materials. Both the glass chopper systemor the granular material feed system and the movement of thehydraulic system is controlled by a servo unit which can besynchronized to the desired volume of spray. The spray unit ismoveably located on the tower which can ride around the tank aswell as positioned itself vertically allowing for the continuousspraying of the walls of the tank. A computer can be used tosynchronized the pumping rates, the chopper rates and for otherconsiderations. The computer can also be used to monitor andstore the output of the system.
