RADIOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS EXHIBITINGREDUCED CROSSOVERAbstract of the DisclosureA radiographic element is disclosed having asupport capable of transmitting blue light and,coated on each of two opposite major faces of saidsupport, a silver halide emulsion layer capable offorming a latent image in response to exposure toblue light. Interposed between at least one of thelatent image forming emulsion layers and the supportis a blue absorbing silver iodide emulsion layerexhibiting at temperatures below 25°C an absorptiontransition wavelength that is bathochromicallydisplaced by at least 20 nm as compared to theabsorption transition wavelength of B phase silveriodide.
