Polyglycerol esters of lanolin acids, method for their production and their application as emulsifiers

Polyglycerol lanolin acid esters of the formula IMAGE in which R in each case denotes hydrogen or alkoyl radicals derived from the lanolin acid and the condition must be fulfilled that at least one radical R has the meaning of such an alkoyl radical, and n is 0 to 12, are prepared by esterification of polyglycerol with lanolin acid or transesterification of polyglycerol with lanolin. The esters according to the invention, which can contain lanolin alcohols, are effective emulsifiers, in particular for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes.
