Reinforced wood flour filled polypropylene sheets - with glass fibre reinforcing layers on both sides for good elongation at break properties
Reinforced wood flour filled polypropylene sheets - with glass fibre reinforcing layers on both sides for good elongation at break properties
Flat composite material based on woodflour filled polypropylene contg. 10-50 wt.% wood flour and 0-20 wt.% glass fibres with an ave. length of less than 2 mm, with reinforcing layers on both sides of endless glass fibres in the form of random or parallel laid fibre layers or fibre mats. Pref. the wood flour filled polypropylene is extruded as a flat web, covered on both sides with the reinforcing layers, pressed into a composite and cooled. USE/ADVANTAGE - The reinforcing layers give woodflour filled polypropylene sheets with improved elongation at break properties compared to previous wood filled polypropylenes (c.f. eg EP-172436). The materials are eg 20-200 cm wide and 0.1 - 1 cm thick, and can be bent, pressed or deep drawn with heating to form finished parts useful eg in the automobile sector. (2pp Dwg.No.0/0)
