Glass-fibre reinforced, filled, plastics compsn. - contg. unsaturated polyester soft resin to improve elongation despite high filler content

High-strength, glass-fibre-reinforced, filled, plastics, moulding e.g. building component such as panels, pipes, tubes, comprises 20-60 wt.% glass-fibres, 8-50 wt.% filler, balance to 100% synthetic resin. The resin phase is a soft resin e.g. an unsatd. polyester resin in proportion =50 wt.%. Opt. a normal resin may be present. The compsn. has good mechanical strength, elongation and resistance to cracking in spite of relatively high content of additives.
