Charge transfer (CT) complexes (I) of peri-xantheneoxanthene of formula (I) are claimed: n = total of postively charged and neutral peri-xanthenoxanthene molecules (1-5); A- = monovalent complex anion. Also claimed is the mfr. of (I) by oxidn. of peri-xantheneoxanthene. A(-) is pref. a hydrogensulphate-, methylsulphate-, dodecylsulphate-, methylsulphonate, dodecylsulphonate-, tosylate-, perchlorate-, tetrafluoroborate-, hexafluorophosphate-, hexafluoroarsenate-, hexafluoroantimonate-, tribromocuprate- and trichlorocuprate-anion and esp. a methylsulphonate, tosylate, perchlorate-, tetrafluoroborate-, hexafluorophosphate- or a tribromocuprate-anion. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are used as antistatic agents in plastics and as organic conductors in electronics (claimed). The radical cation salts of peri-xantheneoxanthene are stable at temps. up to 300 deg.C and exhibit good electrical conductivity and are non-corrosive. (4pp Dwg.No.0/0)
