The vehicle hydraulic piston/cylinder damper has a secondary piston (2) fitted in a guide tube (8) inside the main piston rod (1). The secondary piston is connected via a rod (3) passing through the main piston (7), to the cylinder base (6). - Two pressure ports (15, 16) connect to opposite sides (12, 13) of the secondary piston; one directly and the other via a ring chamber between the guide tube and main piston rod.
