The solar cell array consists of numerous, identical solar cells, passivated against environmental influenced and of sufficient rigidity. They are interconnected by current conductors and formed into a flexible hand in at least one, row. The band is pref. formed by flexible conductors. Several such bands may be clamped to form the array on support elements. Individual cells may be stiffened and embedded in plastics. The stiffening may be provided by laminations in the band, the individual solar cells are coupled in parallel. The conductors may be wires or strips. ADVANTAGE - Simple design, low-cost mfr. and assembly, weather resistance, and easy handling.
