The method involves recording the load on a concrete mixer drive during mixing of solid and liquid material with continuous or discontinuous water input. The load is recorded via a proportional measurement parameter and the material characteristic is derived from the functional relationship between the measurement parameter and the liquid-solid ratio. This functional relationship is determined by a computer which derives the characteristic value. ADVANTAGE - Enables characteristics of concrete to be derived from load on mixer drive for predicting quantity of materials required.
