A roller door has a side opening leaf (2) of transparent PVC which is rolled up onto a vertical drum (1). At the front edge (3) of the leaf (2) is a sliding element (4) from which the leaf (2) is suspended. Both of the drum (1) and sliding element (4) are driven to ensure the leaf (2) remains under horizontal tension (z) and is restrained from folding. At least one horizontally aligned inextensible element (7, 8) is attached to the plastic leaf (2) and rolls up with it. Under tension the element (7, 8) prevents creep in the leaf (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - The door is used chiefly in industrial premises and has a plastic leaf which is prevented from creeping due to tension over long periods.
