The control device uses an electronic control stage (13, 14) which allows the television receiver or computer to be switched on for a limited time period, with the total daily usage time being limited to a defined max. The television receiver or computer may be brought into operation via a coin-operated device, with its usage limited to a duration corresponding to the entered coinage value. The control device is plugged into a mains socket and itself provides an electrical supply socket (7) for the television receiver or computer. USE - For preventing excessive usage of television receiver or computer, esp. when children play video games.
