The pump casing consists of a stator jacket (12) with at least one, longitudinal spiral split (14). An elastomer lining (22) is mounted in the jacket and forms with it the pump stator (10). Inlet and outlet branch (36) parts (32,34) are coupled to the stator ends (20). At least one split (14,16) in the jacket, the section of the lining radially inside the split and the inlet and outlet branches are so shaped that the pump stator will burst open over at least one split, when a preset inner overpressure is exceeded.
