Magazine-fed broaching machine for machining hinge parts - has multiple surface broach traversing past work carrier slide holding row and column matrix of hinge parts

The high volume production horizontal broaching machine removes excess metal from the two mating parts of hinges produced by a moulding or forming process. On the machine frame is a longitudinally traversing slide (2) with a vertical face on which are mounted surface broaches one above the other. Also attached to the machine frame is a work carrier slide (3) with a row and column matrix of clamps for the locaiton and clamping of the hinge parts. The hinge parts to be machined are stacked vertically in the chutes of a magazine (4) on the top edge of the work carrier slide. The parts drop by gravity into the work carrier slide, entry to the upper and lower rows of clamps being controlled by gates in the form of sliding strips. USE - Economic high volume production of hinges for motor car industry etc.
