The device comprises at least one circuit (31) constituted by a succession of two types of elements (33, 34) conductive or semiconductive in series, these two types of thermoelectric different powers and being disposed in alternation so as to produce two types of joints alternating of thermocouples; a source of electric current, which is unidirectional (41); the means (37) in order to connect this current source at the terminals of this single circuit or of at least of these circuits, called an activation, during a first period of time forming a period of activation, means (35) for measuring, during a second period of time which constitutes a measurement period, the potential difference across the terminals of this single circuit or at least one of these circuits, called the measurement and different from said at least one circuit to which the current source is connected, the measurement circuits being thermally coupled to the actuating circuits; and means for determining from the measurement of this potential difference to measure the variation of said physical magnitude.
