To provide an increased spacing GB between a pair of sheet-receiving trays 1 in a vertical stack of inclined trays, upper and lower parts of the stack are relatively shifted in the fore-and-aft direction of the stack. Sheets may then be introduced into the lower tray of the pair. In figure 3, the stack is selectively raised or lowered, inclined slot section 21B producing the increased spacing GB. In figure 5, a block 40 having a guide groove 41 with an inclined section is vertically adjusted to position the increased spacing between the required two trays. Tray pins 12a are received in the guide groove. Sheets in a tray are aligned by a jogging mechanism before being stapled. IMAGE
