PURPOSE:To prevent a pump from clogging and being damaged, by providing a cylindrical container incorporating a suction port of a pump, formed in its side surface with an opening and rotated by a rotary drive source so that only slurry is fed into the pump. CONSTITUTION:A foreign object removing device for a dredging apparatus is a cylindrical container 13 which incorporates a suction port 24 of a pump 20 connected to a discharge pipe 25, and which is formed in its side surface with an opening 21, the container 13 being rotated by a rotary drive source. After this removing device is submerged in slurry, when the pump 20 is driven, slurry is led into the cylindrical container 13 through the opening 21, and is sucked through the suction port 24 of the pump. Foreign object in slurry cannot pass through the opening 21, the thereby it is poled outside of the container 13.
