PURPOSE: To restrict the elongation of a continuous knit fabric within an allowable limit in the traction of the fabric with a friction roller in a state covering a group of nonparallel slits having lateral symmetry and bored on one side of a horizontal suction pipe. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective dehydration apparatus for a continuous knit fabric is provided with a friction roller 8 and a screw roller 10 before and after the knit fabric 7 slidably contacting with nonparallel slit groups 4 of a suction pipe 2. The width of the knit fabric is expanded to nearly the maximum width by the screw roller 10. The distance between both rollers is shortened as far as possible within a range not to hinder the flow of the sucked air flow to the nonparallel slit groups 4. The above dehydration apparatuses each having a means for supplying water to the introduced knit fabric are placed at both sides of the suction pipe 2 of the objective washing apparatus for the continuous knit fabric. The suction pipe 2 has two nonparallel slit groups 4, 5 having opposite directions to each other. The contacting angle of the knit fabric on the screw roller 13 is controlled by passing the fabric on a weight-operated dancer roller 16 placed between both dehydration apparatuses. The width of the knit fabric can be expanded to nearly the maximum width by this method without excessively increasing the tension of the fabric in longitudinal direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
