APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CORRECTING ABSORPTION OF ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROMETRY

PURPOSE: To determine the analyzing physical amount in a sample by electrothermally atomizing known and unknown samples, time integrating the detection signal from he former to determine the maximum absorption value, evaluating the signal from the latter as the function of the maximum absorption value, correcting it, calculating the time absorption integrated value from the corrected absorption value, and determine the correction coefficient. ;CONSTITUTION: Many samples containing analyzing materials to be determined are introduced into electrothermally atomizing means 16. The signal from a detector 20 is introduced from logarithmic means 24 to integrating means 30, time integrated, and introduced into a first memory 32 as the maximum absorption value. Then, calibration sample containing the known amount of the analyzing material is introduced into an atomizer 16, and the signal is introduced from the means 24 into calculating means 28. After the means 28 correct the individual absorption value as the specific function of the maximum absorption value, it is set to time integrated absorption value by the means 30, and stored in a second memory 36. A calibration coefficient is formed from the value and the known amount of the analyzing material by calibrating means 37. Then, similar operation is conducted by the unknown sample of the analyzing amount, the coefficient is multiplied by the obtained time integrated absorption value to determine the analyzing amount.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
