PURPOSE: To unnecessitate the modification of array by replacing and storing data just before data is stored in a fixed bit length register and restoring data to be an original state after data is outputted from the register. ;CONSTITUTION: The gate array with built-in fixed bit length register 1 of a type serially transferring data and an incorporated fixed bit length register 2 are provided. When bit length of the fixed bit length register 2 is n bit length, for example, data of n+1 bit length which is one bit length longer than the bit length is stored in the fixed bit length register. In this case, data is replaced and stored just before data is stored in the fixed bit length register 2, data is outputted from the register 2 and, then, a data operation for replacing data so as to restore the original state is executed so that the register is equivalently extended.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
