DISPOSABLE CULTURE BAG AND CULTURE PROCESS

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject culture bag having light weight, easy of transportation and handling and usable without using an aseptic chamber by inserting a flat tube made of a plastic film into the bottom part of a culture bag and welding and fixing the inserted tube to the bottom part without closing the inner through-part of the tube. CONSTITUTION:A flat tube 4 is produced by welding both edges 5 of a pair of plastic films while leaving an unbonded part 7 to facilitate the opening of the air-supplying hole. The tube 4 is inserted into the bottom part of a culture bag 1 and fixed by welding at the bottom weld part 2 of the culture bag without closing the inner through-part 6. The objective disposable culture bag 1 produced by the above procedure has light weight, is easy of transportation and handling and exhibits the effect comparable to that of an expensive jar fermenter in a temperature-controlled chamber without using an aseptic chamber. A liquid, semi-fluid or powdery culture base is filled in the culture bag 1, the opening of the bag is sealed while leaving a deaeration hole, the medium is sterilized and mushrooms, various bacteria, etc., are cultured by supplying air through the flat tube 4 inserted into the bottom of the bag.
