PURPOSE: To enable easy and uniform electrolytic coloring of an anodic oxide film by anodically oxidizing Al or Al alloy in a bath and immediately carrying out electrolytic coloring in the same bath. ;CONSTITUTION: An electrolytic coloring bath contg. a metallic salt is prepd. and Al or Al alloy is immersed in the bath. A diaphragm is used as a cathode masking material and the Al or Al alloy is anodically oxidized with DC. Electrolytic coloring is then carried out with DC voltage in the same bath with the Al or Al alloy as the cathode and the masking material as the anode. The treated Al or Al alloy is washed and subjected to pore sealing treatment. An electrolytically colored film having wholly uniform bronze, etc., is obtd.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
