COSMOS STRUCTURE ARTICLE AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: To reduce the construction cost of a cosmos space structure article and improve the construction workability. ;CONSTITUTION: A sheet shaped panel body 2 in which a solar battery is incorporated is folded. An expandable tube 3 which is installed at the edge part of the panel body 2 is charged with gas. Simultaneously with the development of the tube 3, the panel body 2 is developed, and a cosmos structure article 1 is constructed. The attitude of the panel body 2 is controlled by an attitude controller 4. Since the cosmos structure article consists of the panel body, tube and the attitude controller, the whole can be made lightweight, and the transport cost for the cosmos structure article can be reduced. Further, since the cosmos structure article is constructed by charging the tube with gas, the construction workability of the cosmos structure article can be improved, and the construction period of the cosmos structure article can be shortened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
