PRODUCTION OF MINERAL FIBER BOARD AND ITS APPARATUS AS WELL AS MINERAL FIBER BOARD PRODUCED BY THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a mineral fiber board which maintains the bending strength of the conventional mineral fiber board without the impairment of the tensile strength in a longitudinal direction acting in a direction where the folded mineral fiber layer is spread. ;CONSTITUTION: In the process for producing the mineral fiber board by transporting the mineral fiber layer 3 consisting of a binder and mineral fibers to a continuously heating furnace 7 by a conveyor 2; the mineral fiber layer 3 is precompressed in its thickness direction and is then expanded and is folded in its longitudinal direction during the transporting of the fiber layer to the furnace. The mineral fibers of the mineral fiber layer 3 are felted and the mineral fiber layer 3 is compressed so as to maintain a practically flat surface in its thickness direction after the curing thereof. At this time, the perpendicular component of force which can be exerted on the mineral fibers in the region to be felted is maximized, by which the mineral fiber layer is felted in the desired region.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
