PURPOSE:To provide a fire-proofing coating material useful for coating a coating object such as steelwork to improve its fire-resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective fire-proofing coating material 1 is composed of water glass, a hardener for water glass and a refractory substance expandable by heating. The fire-proofing material is sprayed in the form of a paste against the outer surface of steelwork 2 or formed to a prescribed form and pasted to the outer surface of a steelwork to exhibit the fire-proofing and heat- insulation performance.
