A device for shaping portions of dough comprises a drum (2) which rotates about a horizontal axis and which is provided at its periphery with alternating receiving apertures (3, 4) of two different sizes for the dough. In each aperture (3, 4), a plunger (43) is guided in the radial direction of the drum; a restrictive guidance system (46) is provided for the purpose of regulating the plunger. A shift mechanism (50) allows only one of the two apertures (3, 4) sizes to be aligned with the shaping device (25) at anyone time; the device is therefore common to all aperture sizes. This allows for a wider range of weight of the dough portions to be shaped.
