PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR REDUCING THE INK JET APPLICATION ON THE PAPER IN COLOUR PRINTING WITH AN INK JET PRINTER

In an ink jet printer are produced characters as individual pixels under principle subtractive color mixing using a multi-color printing head (DK), and this in a separate ink usage black and at least three colored inks (Cy, Ma, Ye). The ink jet printer has a reduction control unit (DST) which converts each pixel line of print into a lower-density line of print, a white pixel with a color pixel being assigned to each pair of original pixels . With this transformation, the application of color in the pixel areas is reduced and therefore are avoided and the mixture flows altering printing.
