PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency for reception of book by processing the book order reception tasks with use of a multi-reader which reads the codes capable of the mechanical processes and an output device which outputs the codes. CONSTITUTION:A multi-reader 3 can read such codes as the OCR characters, the bar codes, etc., that can be mechanically processed. An output device 4 can output these codes. Then the multi-reader 3 can read the order numbers based on the result received from the device 4. Thus no input mistake occurs and the working time is shortened. In addition, the information recording media like an IC card, an optical disk, etc., are used in place of the ordering slips. As a result, the input tasks can be omitted at reception of orders for the order numbers and the book numbers. Thus the work time is also shortened. Thus it is possible to simplify a series of tasks covering the ordering through the reception of orders and including the designation of the book information, the output of order slips, the designation of ordering numbers, the input process of book numbers, the control of data files up to the reception of orders from the ordering, etc.
