The inductive sensor 1 is suitable for emit a signal intended to trigger an ignition device for internal combustion engine. The sensor comprises a stator 8 with polar teeth 9 arranged at its periphery, and a rotor 10 concentric with the stator, which is also of the pole teeth 11 adapted to defiler opposite to those of the stator when the rotor rotates. The rotor and stator belong to a magnetic circuit and the rotation of the rotor causes a variation of flux in a coil, this flux variation which, by induction, the signals at the terminals of the coil. The sensor 1 comprises means c, advantageously constituted by the shape of the teeth 9, 11, in order to compensate for the reluctance variation of the air gap 16 substantially circumferential between the teeth 9, 11, in response to a relative displacement of these teeth in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of rotation.
