In the space bounded by a sidewall (1), a frame (2) and a cover secured by pegs in holes (4) at the corners, holders (5,7,8,14) are provided for direct insertion of relay functional elements. These include an actuating slider (10), a lever (11), a coil former (12) and a contact spring set (13). Electrical or electronic components (16-19) of surface mount type for switching purposes are attached to conductive tracks within the same space and on the internal face of the sidewall. The holders include an L-shaped frame (5) which defines a shoulder (8) and carries posts (7) contg. slots through which the slider (10) is movable by the lever (11) to displace the contacts on their springs (13).
