A system regulates the pressure to close injection moulds where the closure force is transmitted via a moving mould clamping plates to the mould tool. The system has gauges positioned where their readings enable the internal mould and closing pressures to be obtd. over the time concerned; an electronic controller evaluates and stores the readings, it depicts these pressures against time for each operating cycle, and regulates the closure pressure against time during the cycles as a function of the course of the internal mould pressure against time; the drive system has correction devices which convert the signals from the electronic controller into adjustments to regulate the course of the closure pressure against time for each cycle. ADVANTAGE - The closure pressure is regulated at each point of the operating cycle and according to the needs of the moment. This contrasts with normal system which do not take into account that the max. internal mould presusre is usually present when the mould is full, whereas the max. closure pressure is usually applied at the start of the moulding cycle.
