Material comprises chopped straw (S) and/or hay together as a compressed concretion as light-wood type pellets (P), or granular or sawdust concretions. Also claimed is a mfg. method where the chopped material (H) is wetted (FS) to a given moisture content. It is then compressed (PS) in a high pressure or extrusion press into tablets or pellets (P). The pellets (P) pref. have a density of 400-600 g/l or 450-550 g/l, with a dia. of 5-10 mm with ground concretion particles (T1-T3) of 0.5-5.0 mm and mostly 1-3 mm. The particles (T1-T3) have a loose density of 180-300 g/1 and mostly 230-280 g/l. Further nutrient additives (Z) can be added e.g. minerals, starch or proteins, or at least one smell-reducing additive (Z) or disinfectant, or at least one fertilising additive (Z) e.g. mineral and/or natural fertilisers. USE/ADVANTAGE - The material is used as additional feedstuff for animals, and also as scattering or ground cover. The material structure contains less dust which reduces allergic reactions in animals and humans.
