On a spinning frame a band is driven around the working positions to carry cops or tubes. The transport band has slots cut in it at certain positions. Catches fit into the slots and draw the band forward, a section at a time. The metal transport band (11) is held vertically to surround the roller (18) and the free running roller (19). The band runs alongside the spinning positions (4) of a frame, so that full cops can be withdrawn and empty tubes supplied. The band carries a support for the cop (9) or tube (10) and between these or above and below them, are slots cut in the band. A spring catch at the end of a piston of a pneumatic cylinder, is placed at the inside of the side bands (12, 13). They work in opposition, so that by coordination the band is pushed forward by a connection of the spring catch in the cut out. The returning catch slides over the surface of the band. In this manner the band is pushed around in direction (A, B) by an amount (1) with each movement. ADVANTAGE - The cops and tubes are held on precise relative positions on the transport band, so that they are always located in the correct situation for accompanying mechanisms.
