The vehicle has two engines which can be similar or different in output. Each engine is coupled to the summation gearing (5) by separate clutches (3, 4). A third clutch (7) separates the summation gearing from the gearbox (9), enabling a more rapid synchro-mesh operation. The transmission is controlled by a processor (25) with programmed control modes. The third clutch can be incorporated into the summation gearing or into the gearbox. USE/ADVANTAGE - Trucks and buses. Simple gear change operation, fuel efficient operation with single engine drive for touring.
