Fuel supply equipment for single-cylinder gas engine - delivers gas at different pressures to separate induction zones during different stages of four-stroke cycle

Air is drawn through an intake channel (11) with a throttle (12) operated by a stepping motor (13). Gaseous fuel is delivered from a metal hydride tank (20) via high- and low-pressure regulators (24,27) and flow control valves (25,28) to separate ports (8,9). High-pressure gas enters one of the three working chambers (6) during the compression stroke at e.g. 5 atoms. Low-pressure gas enters during the induction stroke in a smaller quantity which is more closely regulated by an electronic control unit (30) responsive to engine speed (31), accelerator pedal position (32) and the pressures (33,34) in the respective feeds. USE/ADVANTAGE - In H2-burning rotary-piston engine, stability of combustion is improved with precision of control of fuel delivery to low-pressure induction zone.
