Ball-game racket, of the tennis-racket type or the like, which is equipped with at least one device for damping vibrations in its structure as well as vibrations in its stringing. This is a damping device (12) with a constraint plate (15) and with a viscoelastic plate (16). These two plates (15, 16) are perforated with respective orifices (21, 22) for the passage of the strings (20), the first (21) being markedly wider than the diameter of the string (20) and the second (22) being sufficiently narrow to grip this string.
