An apparatus for gathering and focusing or for transmitting radiation comprises a reflecting surface (1;) formed by a portion of a right circular cone, a linear collector/transmitter (2;) located within the cone and connected to the vortex of the cone. Adjustable support (2a) can be used to adjust the position of the collector/transmitter relative to the reflecting surface in response to the change of the incoming direction of the radiation. Adjustable support (3,) can also be provided to the reflecting surface so as to adjust its orientation in response to the change of the incoming direction of the radiation. IMAGE
