PURPOSE: To inhibit the product vapor from being excessively cracked by upwardly sending a feed oil to be subjected to fluidized bed catalytic cracking and catalyst particles through reaction risers to effect a cracking reaction and quickly separating the gaseous product from the used catalyst particles. ;CONSTITUTION: A feed oil to be subjected to fluidized bed catalytic cracking and catalyst particles are sent upward through reaction risers 22, 26 and 28, and the feed oil is converted into a gaseous product. Next, the mixture of the gaseous product with the used catalyst is upwardly released from the release bridge 30 of the reaction riser 28 to separate the used catalyst from the gaseous product. Next, the separated used catalyst is kept in the form a thick catalyst bed 50 in the reactor 34 and is stripped by supplying a stripping gas therethrough.
