PURPOSE:To improve the operational speed of a fuzzy inference min-max arithmetic operation non circuit and to reduce the number of hardwares. CONSTITUTION:This min-max arithmetic circuit is provided with a rule correspondence judging part 20 for judging correspondence relation between respective rules for inference and respective input labels included in the antecedent parts of these rules by the collation of label codes and preparing and outputting a rule corresponding bit group in accordance with prescribed array order, a rearraying means 10 for arraying the grades of the operated input labels in the size order together with their corresponding label codes, outputting the arrayed grades in the descending or ascending order and supplying the corresponding codes to the judging part 20, minimum grade detecting means 410 to 480 for obtaining detection information relating to the minimum grades out of grades included in respective rules based upon the grades of input labels outputted from the means 10, and detection means 411, 421, 431, etc., for obtaining detection information relating to the maximum grade out of the minimum grades obtained from respective rules containing outputted labels as consequents based upon the detection information obtained by the means 410 to 480.
