METHOD AND DEVICE FOR UNDETECTED FAILURE CAUSE ANALYSIS

PURPOSE: To enable analyzing undetected failure cause by indicating signal activity state as well as the undetected failure. ;CONSTITUTION: A signal information output part 1 inputs logical circuit information 4 and test pattern 5, performs failure simulation, and outputs undetected failure information 6 and a signal activity state signal 7. A signal information indication part 2 inputs the information 6 and the signal 7 to search the activity state of the undetected failure signal and indicates signal information indication 8 indicating the activity state regarding the undetected failure signal. An undetected failure cause analysis part 3, basing on the indication 8, judges the cause of undetected failure indication whether the signal regarding the undetected failure is due to unsetting of value for detecting the failure, or due to not transmitted in spite of setting of the value, or due to non-initialization of the logic circuit, and outputs undetected failure cause information 9.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
