PURPOSE:To improve the tensile strength, elongation and electric conductivity by carrying out annealing immediately before final cold rolling at a high temp. in a short time when a Cu-Cr-Sn or Cu-Cr-Sn-P alloy for a lead frame is hot rolled and worked into a plate by repeated cold rolling and annealing. CONSTITUTION:A Cu-Cr-Sn or Cu-Cr-Sn-P alloy ingot for a lead frame contg. 0.05-1.0wt% Cr and 0.01-0.5wt% Sn or further contg. 0.2wt% P is worked into a plate or a bar by hot rolling and is finally worked into a plate or a bar of the desired shape by repeated cold rolling and annealing. At this time, annealing immediately before final cold rolling is carried out at 650-800 deg.C high temp. in 1-10min short time. A Cu alloy material for a lead frame having =50kg/mm.2 tensile strength and =8% elongation representing the toughness of a lead part is manufactured.
