UNDERWATER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR REDUCING LIQUID-BORNE NOISE

PURPOSE: To reduce liquid-borne noise from a hydraulic pump by respectively providing a hydraulic pump for moving fluid from one location to another, and a gas barrier between the pump and one of the locations without direct communication relationship. ;CONSTITUTION: An underwater hydraulic system 10 is arranged in a pressure vessel 12 disposed under water 13. A fixed displacement pump 16 for supplying hydraulic fluid to a suitable number of hydraulic loads 18 disposed outside the pressure vessel 12 is provided in the underwater hydraulic system 10. A plurality of accumulators 40, 41 having fluid sides 42, 43 and gas sides 44, 45, and separated by movable barriers formed by pistons 46, 47 respectively are provided. One of the accumulators 41 is provided with a plurality of sensors S1, S2 for detecting the upper and lower limit levels of the fluid. The opening and closing of valves V1, V2 are controlled by a valve control circuit 50 via solenoids 22, 23 in a plurality of lines L1, L2 on the basis of the detected outputs.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
