PURPOSE: To classify unhulled rice so as to substantially stably ensure the taste although based on the kind of the rice by classifying it received in accordance with an optionally determined plurality of receiving tanks on the basis of taste values. ;CONSTITUTION: While a sample is extracted from the received rice and transferred to a preparatory tank 13 through a rough selector 11 and a weighing device 12, the moisture of the unhulled rice is measured simultaneously with the extraction of the sample. The characteristic value of the extracted sample is analyzed and measured by a near infrared spectrochemical analyzer. The taste value of the unhulled rice is calculated from a taste value converting factor preliminarily set to obtain the taste value from the characteristic value and the characteristic value analyzed and measured by the near infrared spectrochemical analyzer. An optionally set taste like is assigned to the unhulled rice by the taste value and the moisture value obtained as above, thereby to determine to which of the receiving tanks 14 or of the storing silos 16 the unhulled rice is classified and supplied.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
